Utah Fused Glass

What is it?

Fused glass is multiple layers of glass frit (very small pieces of glass) that are put in a mold and fused with 1470 degrees of heat in a kiln.  Artist Barbara Marshall of Utah creates these lovely shapes and we found her an Art Show in Brian Head last year.

The simple but flowing lines of the two pieces spoke to me and I could see them together immediately.  The larger “frame allows you to focus on the inner drop and draws your eye in and up to the gold neck chain.

Worn on a pink/peach blouse with round neckline it is a fabulous addition to an evening out wardrobe.
