Last Winter in Escalante

The Notch 11-15

After 8 years of life in Escalante, Ut and having the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument out our front door, the winters are still the very best.  Winter light is soft and allows for lots of texture and shadows.  While we’ll have our studios set up in order to view the Enoch valley, it won’t quite be the same.

We won’t miss the long drive to shopping, the need for a good breakfast restaurant, or more choices in grocery shopping.  But the spirits of the monument can talk to you if you listen.  And listening isn’t difficult because in the winter there isn’t any other sound.  No traffic. No people. Lovely skies.
